Hi!

Good day

Im Mr. Jovel M. Elumba, adviser of a high school paper here in Oriental Mindoro.

We are now producing Civic Journalism as part of our publication. I have chosen the threats of mining in Mindoro as the subject.

I was browsing mining pictures via Google when I saw your photographs. It fascinated me so much for your shots really appealed to my senses. Especially, the pictures of the two boys at the thatched roof looking at the sunset behind the mountains. The picture has really a great human interest feature

Can we use the picture for our publication? The publication is intended only for students' consumption and not for commercial use. Don't worry, we'll attribute the picture to your name. I'm loooking forward to your positive response.
Please get in touch with me via my e-mail: n.manalo@yahoo.com or you can contact me at 0929 465 9904. Thanks

Regards & God bless!

The above report reads badly for the mining industry.
The Philippines is blessed with an abundant mineral reserve of all and varied types. The Philippines ranks around third place world wide in natural resources
the Philipino to a large extent have only themselves to blame.
What I cannot understand is : In other countries, the same minerals are mined, and the salaries paid to the workforce are very high. Take for instance, a dump truck operator in an Australian mine, He or she, is paid US$7,000 per month on average. Who is the greedy Philipino supplying and ripping off his fellow country man. Your very own polititions are all fat and happy to see their fellow country men starve. What is the answer to all this. Set up a system that sets wages and conditions for all concerned. Do not listen to some religious crank or politition telling you to go to church and pray for it to get better tomorrow. Remember clearly THERE IS NO TOMORROW. Remember the sign in the bar (FREE BEER TOMORROW) this sign is correct in all ways, but waiting for tomorrow is just plain stupid.

Hi! Your pictures are really awesome. On what I saw, the most beautiful is the dam with contaminated water. It is beautifully balanced. I am also a photographer. But my real purpose here is to ask you, when did you got these shots? I really need to know it, for my requirements in Science subject. We’re going to have a research study concerning about conataminated waters. I really appreciate your reply.
I'm referring on the province of Benguet.

Your documenting work here hit me - I have had to pause while I was looking at the photographs and reading the text.

I have to be honest, I grew up in the Philippines and only had the barest information of these matters.
